Provence is in the air!
Let’s go, cicadas, sun, smells of lavender, come to me!
Anyway, I’m calling them with all the forces of my lovely Provencal fabric!
Fancy a holiday? Definitely!
In France? Definitely!
In Provence? Why not!
Well, as the holidays are not planned until May (in France and on the Charente Maritime side), I just sew a little skirt in a pretty Provencal fabric, gived by my parents!
I wanted for this sunny-smell fabric, a contrasting skirt to play with a polka dot fabric in the same colors. Of course I had an fixed idea and no pattern corresponding to this idea (and yet I can assure you that my pattern library is quite large !)…So, I draw the pattern myself and I’m pretty happy with the result!

So for the details, I opted for an elastic waist in the back, but not on the front so that give a flat waist appearance. I highlighted the bottom of the belt with a contrast piping, and then played with the skirts to make a biiig skirt that unfolds when you turn!
I have another piece of Provence fabric and in my opinion, it will be transformed in the same way (or maybe dress version) because I love the result! Mr. Kallou, him, think I’m getting old because my skirt is much wiser than my previous (these, or this one or that one)! Aaaarg!
Home-made pattern for the skirt, in 4 years old, Provencal fabric from provence, Green dot fabric by Moda.
A nice pictures break, where I almost managed to dress Aline properly, only the crazy orange cat body, too small … not negotiable!
Aline explained to me however that my skirt was pretty but lacked one essential element: there’s no pockets to put the pine cones …
There’s important things in life, anyway!
